Forward Quinton Byfield agreed to a five-year, $6.25 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.
The 21-year-old Ontario native set career highs with 20 goals and 35 assists last season.
He also had a +19 rating, the best among Kings forwards.
Byfield became the third player for his team in 20 years to score at least 20 goals at the age of 21 or younger, following Anze Kopitar (three times between 2006 and 2009) and Alexander Frolov (2003-2004).
Drafted second overall in 2020, Byfield has 28 goals and 88 points in the NHL in 179 games.
He added a goal and eight points in 13 playoff games.
