D-7 before the arrival of the Tour de France in Longwy. On Thursday July 7, during the 220 km long 6th stage, the peloton will link Binche in Belgium to the city of Emaux.
Longwy which is preparing for this great cycling event: the city is making up and disguising itself in the colors of the Grande Boucle, with flags, silhouettes of cyclists or even floral decorations.
And then in consultation with the Prefecture of Meurthe et Moselle and Amaury Sport Organisation, the municipality has just unveiled its traffic and parking plan, with its set of restrictions. A plan that was more difficult to develop than in 2017, the last year of the Tour’s passage through the city of Enamels, as explained by the mayor of Longwy, Jean-Marc Fournel.
This traffic and parking plan will be activated from July 6, on the Place d’Arche in Longwy Haut, where the finish line will be located.
This Sunday, July 2, will also be held in Longwy, the city’s cycling grand prix. The event reserved for amateurs has been exceptionally brought forward to this date, because the final of this race will follow the route of the Tour de France.
