(Longueuil) Three individuals who attempted to flee Longueuil police officers on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday in the Saint-Hubert sector, by car and then on foot, were finally arrested. Charges could be brought against them at a later date.
Around midnight, a suspicious vehicle fled when it saw a Longueuil police patrol car.
“The fleeing vehicle, after several dangerous manoeuvres and even an attempt to hit a patrol vehicle, ended its journey after hitting an inanimate object,” explained officer François Boucher, who is spokesperson for the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL).
Once the vehicle stopped, its three occupants fled on foot on Julien-Lord Boulevard. They were subsequently caught and arrested by SPAL officers. An adult man, known to SPAL, remains in detention. Two teenagers were released after meeting with investigators.
“Several elements remain to be validated in this event, while the circumstances and the involvement of each person will have to be clarified based on the elements that we continue to collect,” said Agent Boucher.
For the moment, the SPAL indicates that the charges that could be retained are dangerous driving, armed assault, flight and obstruction of the work of peace officers.
