A person in their fifties is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Monday morning in Longueuil.
According to the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department, the accident occurred around 11 a.m., near the intersection of Payer Boulevard and Jarry Street, in the Saint-Hubert borough. The victim was taken to hospital, where his condition is considered critical.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unknown. However, there are no stop signs on this section of Payer Boulevard, a major artery in western Saint-Hubert, although markings have been drawn on the ground to indicate a crossing at the intersection of Jarry Street.
A security perimeter has been set up so that investigators can shed light on what led to the accident. Payer Boulevard is currently closed between Jarry and Cummings streets northbound, on the border between the boroughs of Saint-Hubert and Greenfield Park.
