(Longueuil) A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car on Thursday evening at the intersection of Cousineau and Mountainview boulevards in Longueuil, Montérégie.
The accident occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the borough of Saint-Hubert. The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was transported to a hospital center where he is in critical condition, said the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL).
The driver of the car, also in his 40s, was treated for shock before being arrested by police.
“The first observations and the elements obtained on the spot led us to proceed with the arrest of the individual. He could face charges related to his driving of the vehicle, ”said the SPAL public relations agent, François Boucher.
The investigation is continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. The police erected a perimeter on the scene, closing the road in the direction of Longueuil for an indefinite period.
