(Longueuil) Four men suspected of attacking an individual late Tuesday in Longueuil were arrested by police and could be charged with several criminal offenses on Wednesday.
The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) specified that the suspects were to be questioned by investigators Tuesday evening. The four men aged 36, 37, 45 and 46 are all known to the police.
The SPAL reported that the armed attack occurred around 5:10 p.m. on Boulevard Losch, in the borough of Saint-Hubert. The victim, a man aged in his 30s, reportedly suffered minor injuries to his upper body.
He was taken into care and transported to a hospital as a preventive measure; there was no fear for one’s life in the evening.
The mobilization of several patrol officers quickly enabled the interception of a suspicious vehicle which seemed linked to the event; all four men were on board.
The participation of the SPAL canine squad made it possible to find a firearm inside the suspect vehicle.
The first elements collected by the police show that the victim and the suspects knew each other. Tuesday evening, the investigation was trying to determine the exact motives and circumstances of the attack.
The four suspects could face charges of assault with a weapon, assault, threats, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose and extortion.
