Long Track Skating | Canadian delegation announced ahead of World Cups

(CALGARY) Officials of Speed ​​Skating Canada announced Monday the provisional composition of its long track teams for the four fall stages of the World Cup, which will include two competitions in Calgary in December.

The Canadian team for the first two stops, Nov. 11-13 in Norway and Nov. 18-20 in the Netherlands, is expected to consist of 16 athletes.

Seven other skaters will join the roster at the first of two stops in Calgary, Dec. 9-11.

These additions are explained by the fact that the host country is entitled to an increased quota of participants. Another athlete will be added during the second World Cup in Calgary, from December 16 to 18, for a total of 24 athletes.

Seven Quebecers are part of the provisional list for the four fall stages, namely Cédrick Brunet, Laurent Dubreuil, Christopher Fiola, Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu, Béatrice Lamarche, Valérie Maltais and Rose Laliberté-Roy.
