Aldershot, a quiet little town south of London (United Kingdom), turned into a rear base for rehearsals for the coronation of Charles III, Sunday, April 30. Several hundred soldiers review the millimeter movements that they will reproduce in the center of London, Saturday, May 6. For their part, the riders must calm the horses and prepare them for an atmosphere that promises to be overexcited.
“A once-in-a-lifetime thing”
Near Buckingham Palace, the crowds have not yet invaded the stands, but some have decided to get ahead and are already starting to sleep outside. “We wanted to have a good seat, because we think there will be a lot of people. It’s a once in a lifetime thing.”, says a woman. With less than a week to go until the coronation, queues are growing outside London’s souvenir shops.
