The complaint of Marion Sicot against her former sports director has just been filed away. The public prosecutor of Montargis Loïc Abrial, announced his decision this Friday. The Loire cyclist accused the Belgian Marc Bracke, sexual harassment. But “the offense is not sufficiently characterized”.
Lack of formal evidence
Nothing suggests that Marc Bracke had the intention to sexually harass Marion Sicot, believes the Montargis prosecutor, who concedes that the former team manager Doltcini-Van Eyck “had a poor command of English”language in which they exchanged, specifies the magistrate.
In June 2021, the International Cycling Union (UCI) had decided to to suspend three-year-old Marc Bracke for acts of sexual harassment. Marion Sicotmeanwhile, is suspended for doping, until 2024. She told his history and her version of the facts, in a book called “Harassed, doped but back!” published last September. Today she admits do not understand this decision.
Cold shower for Marion Sicot
Marion Sicot says she is sad and furious that justice refuses to investigate his complaint. She announces that she is going counterattack. “I am clearly angry because he was found guilty in the world of sport, the UCI gave him a three-year suspension and there apparently there is not enough evidence and perhaps a wrong interpretation at the translation level. So that means that asking for photos of a person in their underwear and even more naked is normal” indignant the cyclist.
I don’t understand, I’m really flabbergasted
Marion Sicot assures that she will not not stop there“I am going to file a complaint again, I want to be recognized as a victim, I have been recognized as a victim in the world of sport, it is for me that I am doing this but also for all the women who are victims of harassment” she adds, repeating that she will continue to Continue to fight, “it’s clear and clean”.
The cyclist is currently on the roads, she got back on her bike at the start of the week. She performs a Tour of France, that of 1930, alone and without assistance. She left on August 1 for a journey of 5000 kilometers to be completed in twenty-one days. She will come August 21 next, on the side of her home, in Saint-Aignan-des-Gués, in the Loiret.
