Logic respected, Claggett downgraded

Canadian boxer Steve Claggett lost a unanimous decision in a World Boxing Organization (WBO) title fight on Saturday. At 35, it was his first chance at a title.

Two judges judged Teofimo Lopez to have won every round of the fight. The third judge judged it to be Claggett. It was the eighth loss in his career for the Calgary native, who had won his last nine fights.

Lopez therefore retains his super-lightweight title and brings his record to 21 wins and one defeat.

The fight took place at the James L. Knight Center in Miami.

More details to come.
