locked in the trunk of her car, a young woman manages to call the police

Sunday around noon in the parking lot of a supermarket in Pont-à-Mousson, while a 28-year-old girl has just done her shopping and is about to start, a man settles in the back of his car and threatens her with a gun. He asks her for her credit card and the code before asking her to enter the trunk of the car. The criminal then goes on foot to the city center to withdraw money from an ATM with the stolen card.

Saved by her cell phone

Locked in the trunk, the victim finds his mobile phone and dials 17. At the end of the line, the police manage to locate the call and send a patrol but in the meantime, the thief returns, sits on the edge of the vehicle and leaves the city with the girl still in the trunk but with her phone connected to the police who can track her. After a few kilometers, the kidnapper drops her on the side of the road and continues on his way. The police patrol picks her up a few minutes later and heads to the supermarket parking lot. The aggressor is there, he is about to get into his car. The victim acknowledges this formally. The police arrest him and find on him the stolen bank card, a sum of 1000 euros which he had just withdrawn from the distributor as well as a dummy weapon.

Judged this Wednesday in immediate appearance

Placed in police custody, he admits the facts. According to the Public Prosecutor, the 57-year-old man lives in Metz. He has “no mention in his record except for an old conviction for intentional violence”. He should be judged this Wednesday in immediate appearance.

The victim was not injured but is still in shock.
