“By making their own a work which is based on several illegal leaks emanating from the UPAC, the veracity of which has also never been demonstrated and which violates the privacy of a former premier of Quebec, the Legault government, the minister Justice and in particular the Deputy Prime Minister condone and legitimize illegal acts, ”Mr. Charest denounced in a press release on Wednesday.

Mr. Charest says he was “deeply shocked by the actions and words of the Legault government”. He accuses Deputy Prime Minister Geneviève Guilbault of having exhibited the work “theatrically” in the bedroom. PLQ Inc., last October 21.

This book, written by the Quebecor Investigation Bureau team, “reveals the setbacks of the Mâchurer investigation, conducted by the Permanent Anti-Corruption Unit” and is available in bookstores. “This book is the result of several leaks of investigations carried out by UPAC, leaks which, let us say it clearly, constitute criminal acts”, deplores Jean Charest.

“These not only violate the privacy of Mr. Charest, but they are now the subject of a lawsuit before the Superior Court following the refusal of the government of Quebec to apologize to the former first minister, ”he added.
