“Living footprint, industrial heritage in Ardèche”, a historical and human journey

Did you know that the commune of Largentière produced 80% of French silver until the 1980s? That 15,000 workers worked in the milling industry, in the production of silk thread in the 19th century? Department recognized for its exceptional natural heritage, the Ardèche was for several centuries a rich and hardworking industrial land, in different fields, jewellery, paper, vehicle bodywork, lime production, ore extraction… This economic and human history is presented to you through the still existing built heritage in the documentary by director Christian Tran, “Living footprint, industrial heritage in Ardèche”. A film presented at the moment in different municipalities of the department.

This project was initiated by the “Industrial Heritage” commission of the Ardèche, created by a host of heritage associations, Memory of Ardèche and present time, the Ardèche Geology Society, the Society for the Protection of Ancient Monuments in the Ardèche and the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park.

Screenings this Tuesday, January 25 in Jaujac, at the Château de Castrevieille, at 8 p.m., in the presence of the director, this Friday at the Triolet de Chomerac multipurpose room, at 6 p.m., again with the director. There will also be screenings on February 12 in Saint-Jean-Chambre and on February 18 in Malbosc. Find all the dates and places on the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Park website.
