According to a survey by Snpden-Unsa unions, 63% of primary and secondary schools deplore the lack of at least one teacher. This is the subject of Talk franceinfo. Every evening, from 6 p.m., Manon Mella and her guests debate with Internet users on the franceinfo Twitch channel.

The Minister ofNational Education, Pap Ndiaye, promised in an interview with France Bleu Lorraine Nord “a better back to school in 2023 than in 2022” and assured that there will be “a teacher in each class at the start of the school year”. This promise had already been formulated last year in similar terms. However, at the start of the 2022 academic year, 4,000 teaching positions remained vacant. Why are we short of teachers?

Manon Mella receives Nicolas Gliereprofessor, spokesperson for Les Stylos Rouges and author of the book School, the twilight of knowledge published by Michalon as well asErwin Duckeducation journalist at the AEF.

A collective lawsuit against the State

Monday, May 22, disgruntled parents gathered within the #Onveutdesprofs collective launched legal action against the State. They denounce the non-replaced absences of teachers and consequently the many hours of lessons lost for school children.

At the end of 2022, 127 requests for compensation relating to unreplaced class hours had already been filed before various administrative courts in France.
