Climate protests have resumed since Friday March 3 in several major cities in France. How are ways of raising awareness of the climate emergency evolving? This is the subject of Talk franceinfo. Every evening from 6 p.m., Manon Mella and his guests debate with Internet users on the franceinfo Twitch channel.
On Friday March 3, young people were invited to demonstrate on the occasion of a day of global strike for the climate, organized by Fridays for Future, the movement launched by Greta Thunberg in 2018. These climate movements and in particular Fridays For Future have mobilized part of the youth on a large scale in recent years and have sometimes even managed to weigh in on the political agenda. However, climate marches are running out of steam, and environmental movements are looking for new strategies.

Too late to act?
In Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Bordeaux or even Brest, young activists marched in the streets. On March 10, a week after the international meeting, Fridays for Future France organizes the strike for the climate. The movement calls in particular for the establishment of a training course in global thermal renovation.
However, these marches attract less and less crowds despite the exceptional climatic episodes that the country is going through. So how can we continue to mobilize and raise awareness on the issue of climate change? Are so-called “punching” actions an option increasingly considered by environmental movements to alert people to the situation?
