Monday, June 5, 2023, the government presented its first measures to deal with the housing crisis, in the wake of the reports of the National Council for Refoundation. This is the subject of Talk franceinfo. Every evening from 6 p.m., Manon Mella and her guests debate with Internet users on the franceinfo Twitch channel.

Renting more and more complicated to find, rising real estate prices, difficult access to property: the housing crisis is growing in France. Thus, at the end of the work of the National Council for Refoundation (CNR) devoted to housing, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne presented the first measures adopted by the government. Among these, we note the extension of the “real solidarity lease” extended to a greater number of households in order to promote access to property, or the Visale guarantee which will soon have to affect more households to help lease. Can these new measures be effective?

Government limits?

Decline in new construction, increase in the number of applicants for social housing and homeless people: the crisis seems to affect all areas of the sector. Real estate professionals call it a “time bomb” and warn of the serious economic and social consequences it could have.

However, despite the government’s plan to deal with the crisis, industry professionals are skeptical. Is this plan to relaunch the sector up to the challenges? Is this crisis only cyclical or is it the result of older political decisions?

Join us from 6 p.m. Monday to Friday on the franceinfo Twitch channel to participate in Manon Mella’s Talk. An hour of exchange, clarification, debate around topical and social issues.
