Moderna Pharmaceuticals is to announce this morning at 10 a.m. that it will build a brand new biomanufacturing plant in the Montreal area. The company would have chosen the metropolis to produce RNA-based vaccines in Canada.
In addition to the president and CEO of Moderna, Stéphane Bancel, the prime ministers Justin Trudeau and François Legault will meet for this announcement, in addition to the federal Minister of Health, Jean-Yves Duclos. The agreement between Ottawa and the pharmaceutical could include a federal commitment to buy a certain quantity of doses over the next few years.
