“Did you attack him?“. A question that caused a lot of talk and Yann Barthès would never have imagined it when he asked it to Maïwenn, his guest for the evening on Wednesday May 10. Indeed, the presenter of “Daily” asked if the director had indeed assaulted the boss of MediapartEdwy Plenel, who filed a complaint against her on March 7, 2023. “Yes”smiling and making the public laugh, recognized the 47-year-old artist before adding: “I’ll talk about it when it’s time. I’m very anxious about the release of my film”.
If the sequence lasted only a few seconds, it was enough to spark controversy. In particular for the laughter aroused and the smile displayed by Maïwenn. On “TPMP”many columnists expressed their anger and pointed the finger at the behavior of Yann Barthès. “The sequence is extremely embarrassing”, lamented Gilles Verdez before continuing: “People laugh at a scene of violence whose outcome we don’t know and we have the impression that it goes like that”.

The chroniclers of “TPMP” see red and tackle Yann Barthès, Cyril Hanouna defends him
An opinion joined by Géraldine Maillet: “The problem with Yann Barthès is that he is always in a thing of half-mockery, half-irony, not really a journalist. He goes there, but he doesn’t really go there. He places the cursor at the wrong place”. For his part, Gilles Verdez outbid by ensuring that for such a sequence, on “TPMP”, “there would be seizures of Arcom”.
However, Cyril Hanouna does not agree with his team. If everyone knows that a great rivalry exists between him and the host of “Daily”“Baba” nevertheless explains that “It’s his style and that’s how he also manages to get stuff”. “It would have been me, the question would not have been the same, it would have been said “Hanouna, he goes there frankly””he assures afterwards before recalling and acknowledging: “but it’s my style and there are people who don’t like it. It’s his style and we’re not going to change it”. A statement, filled with honesty, which did not fail to surprise the columnists.
