Last November, Michel Sardou announced to his most loyal fans, a new concert tour in 2023. A farewell tour which will begin next October and which will include around thirty dates across France. In less than ten minutes, more than 100,000 tickets have been sold, enough to prove that the 75-year-old artist remains one of the most popular singers in the country.
This Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Michel Sardou was invited to the microphone of BFMTV to talk about this famous tour but also to discuss his entire long career. The artist was thus led to talk about the hit “Je vole” released in 1978, whose lyrics are very sad because it simply depicts a child who says goodbye to his parents by saying to them: “My dear parents: I’m leaving. I love you, but I’m leaving. You won’t have any more children tonight. I’m not running away, I’m stealing”. Michel Sardou did not fail to underline the fact that many fans have never understood the meaning of the song: “What’s funny about I flywhich was a huge success, is that people did not understand. It’s actually a child who commits suicide” he said live in BFMTV. “I did it because unfortunately I was confronted with someone who experienced this drama“. he added.
With his legendary outspokenness, the singer therefore apologized that some did not understand the true meaning: “I shot him as if he was leaving the house, and people understood that: a kid who goes off on an adventure“. The singer, on the other hand, was delighted with the interpretation of the song in the musical “I’ll love you” which brings together his greatest hits: “In the musical, they put the umbrellas and the coffin. They understood it“.
