Over the past few days, several specialized services such as walkers, divers and aerial surveillance by drone or helicopter have been called upon to find the little girl who disappeared in the waters while sliding with her mother near the Chute des motel. fathers on December 22.
“Unfortunately, despite sustained efforts and in the absence of any clue to locate the little girl, we are suspending the ongoing search,” said the SQ in a press release sent to the media late Friday afternoon.
However, divers should go to the site when the ice cover permits.
The SQ specifies, however, that in the event that new elements emerge, services could be mobilized again.
“It should be noted that the investigation surrounding this sad event continues and that the investigations department of the MRC Maria-Chapdelaine has been supporting the family since the first day, and the link will remain until the outcome,” added the police force. .

On December 22, the 4-year-old girl and her mother were sliding near the Motel Chute des Pères in Dolbeau-Mistassini, when the little girl fell into the waters of the Mistassibi River, a tributary of the Mistassini River located lower down, towards the south where the current is very strong.
The tragedy occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Panoramique Boulevard. All emergency services were quickly alerted.
