Listeria bacteria: cheeses affected by a recall

Le Fromage au Village and FreshFun Fantastic brands are being recalled due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.

The products affected by the recall have been sold in Quebec and Ontario, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said on Wednesday.

Sold online, cheeses from Le Fromage au Village may also have been distributed elsewhere in Canada, according to the federal agency.

Consumers in possession of these cheese products are advised not to eat them, but to throw them away or return them to the store where they were purchased, it was added.

Even if they show no visible spoilage, foods contaminated with listeria monocytogenes can still make you sick if eaten.
