Listening to the police would have saved him $1300

A motorist obviously in a hurry would have had a great interest in listening to police warnings last week to avoid ending up with a fine exceeding $1,300.

According to what the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) explained on Monday, a motorist was first intercepted for the first time last Thursday morning, after being denounced by citizens because of his illegal overtaking and because he was following the other vehicles very closely on Route 117 in Lac-Saguay, in the Laurentians.

Caught up by the police, the impatient motorist was recommended to calm down at the wheel, in addition to receiving a statement of offense for $108 due to the poor condition of a part on his vehicle.

However, at the end of the afternoon, the 61-year-old man from Amos demonstrated, under the eyes of other police officers in Labelle, that he had not really understood the instructions of the SQ agents.

Far from having moderated his ardor, the pilot darkened at more than 140 km / h, in an area of route 117 limited to 90 km / h, under the eyes of the police who went to intercept him.

To help his cause, the 60-year-old also overtook on the right as the police were busy catching up with him, in addition to stubbornly sticking close to another vehicle.

His various offenses therefore earned fines totaling $1,307 and 15 demerit points, resulting in the suspension of his driver’s license.
