The organizers of Paris 2024 unveil, Wednesday May 8, the official musical theme of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, composed by Victor le Masne. The one who was the musical director of Starmania was chosen “as musical director of the four ceremonies”, which will each have their own sound identity, inspired by the official musical theme.

This official theme, entitled “Parade”, was recorded with “the National Orchestra of France, as well as the Choir and the Master of Radio France”. It will be performed live for the first time “by the Marseille orchestra from the Palais du Pharo” during the arrival of the Olympic flame on Wednesday evening. It will then be heard throughout the Games, and in particular “at each stage of the relay” of the flame. “This official musical theme will be available in a plurality of versions with evolving sounds and rhythms depending on the occasion.”

“Set the pace for the next few months”

Paris 2024 describes, in a press release, an official theme “captivating, subtly combining symphonic and electronic sounds, embodying the dynamic and universal spirit” games. The organizers also mention a “catchy melody”. “Victor le Masne brings to music all the magic of the Paris 2024 Games brilliantly by combining both the values ​​of sport and the ambition of Paris 2024 to set the rhythm for the coming months”, welcomes the president of Paris 2024 Tony Estanguet.

The composer Victor le Masne said “honored and excited to contribute to the unforgettable experience” of these Games. He assures that his objective was “to create an original soundtrack which will not only accompany the most memorable moments of these historic Games, but which will also remain engraved in the memories of all generations”.
