In the middle of touring his last show Chu got therebeloved Quebec comedian Lise Dion felt unwell before entering the stage in Saint-Eustache on Friday evening, her manager confirmed.
Lise Dion is currently under medical surveillance, the communications agency SMAC said in a press release on Saturday. No further comments will be made at this time.
At 68 years old, the essential of the Quebec comedy scene is completing the tour of the last one-woman show of her career entitled Chu got there.
She was supposed to present it Friday evening at the Le Zénith performance hall in Saint-Eustache, in the Laurentians, but felt unwell before entering the stage, confirmed her manager Daniel Senneville.
“Ticket holders will be informed of the refund or postponement procedure,” specifies SMAC communications in a press release.
In interview with the Montreal Journal in mid-September, the artist admitted that life on tour was starting to “be hard”.
The public was there, with longer ovations. This latest show is due to end in December 2023, capping 35 years on stage and screen and more than 1,300,000 tickets sold in career, according to Productions 6e sense. The spotlights were to go out for good on December 22, at L’Étoile in Brossard.
One last goodbye
“Hello Saint-Eustache! I’m doing the last two Lifetime shows in your beautiful and cuddly venue, it’s hard. It’s rough for the emotion, it’s rough to leave,” Lise Dion told her fans on Facebook on Friday.
On social networks, Internet users who attended Friday’s show are worried about the artist’s health. “All the best to Lise Dion who had to postpone her show tonight. I hope she is well and that it will only be a postponement,” wrote a user.
“Unfortunately, Madame Lise Dion felt unwell on stage at the start of the show and everything stopped. A full house, a disappointed and sad audience. Show postponed to a later date. Let’s hope for Mrs. Dion that it’s not too serious,” worried another.
“Take care of yourself Lise,” said a third.
