Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis, died of cardiac arrest

Lisa Marie Presley has died aged 54. His mother, Priscilla Presley, said in a statement Thursday that Elvis Presley’s only child passed away after being taken to hospital earlier in the day.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson said paramedics were dispatched to a Calabasas home on Thursday morning after a report of a woman in cardiac arrest.

Property records indicate Lisa Marie Presley, 54, lived at this address. Mme Presley was present at the Golden Globes earlier this week, where a film about her father was in the running.

The “King’s” daughter had been rushed to hospital on Thursday morning, according to a message posted earlier by her mother on social media. She had been placed in an artificial coma, according to the TMZ site, which relied on anonymous sources.

Her ex-husband, Danny Keough, who also lives on the property, performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took her to hospital.

“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I know,” her mother said in her statement, asking to respect the family’s privacy and thanking fans for “their love and prayers.”

Asked, a press officer for Lisa Marie Presley did not immediately respond to AFP.

She retained control of Graceland, the Memphis (Tennessee) property owned by her father, where he was found unconscious in August 1977, before being taken to hospital. While his death was attributed to a heart attack, toxicology reports revealed elevated drug levels in the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s system.

Lisa Marie Presley was married four times, including Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996 and Nicolas Cage from 2002 to 2004. She had four children. His son Benjamin Keough, born of his union with producer Danny Keough, committed suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27. She is also the mother of actress, model and director Riley Keough.
