Lisa LeBlanc back at the Festival international de la chanson de Granby… as a headliner

Thirteen years after her great victory, Lisa LeBlanc will be back at the Festival international de la chanson de Granby (FICG) as a headliner next summer.

During her visit, the Acadian singer-songwriter will take to the stage at Parc Daniel-Johnson, a stone’s throw from Lac Boivin, to offer a free show on August 19.

In 2010, she was only 20 when she showed up in Granby.

“I wrote tunes, and lived business in Granby. As much by the school of song as by its Festival, as by its evenings at the Pub of the village. Very excited to come back to see you!” the 32-year-old artist said Monday in a statement.

“The Village Pub is closed, many things have changed, but not the great adventure that is the Grand Concours Hydro-Québec! This year again, the jury will identify promising talents and offer them the chance to meet professionals and the public at the Palace next August… Last chance to register for this 55e editing!” underlined for her part the director general of the FICG, Geneviève Côté.

10 days to register for the different sections

There are indeed 10 days left before the end of the registration period, which ends on March 16, at 4 p.m. Artists aged 18 or over from the Canadian Francophonie with a musical project can register for the Grand Concours Hydro-Québec. 14-17 year olds can come forward for Never Too Early, while professionals can take part in the Solotech Musical Showcases.

The 55e edition of the FICG will be held from August 10 to 20, in downtown Granby. More information is available online [ficg.qc.ca].
