The Most Popular Procedures for Men in the United States in 2020

Rhinoplasty (nose) : more than 65,000 procedures

While some procedures come and go with fashion, nose reconstruction has remained the most popular among men for many years.

Blepharoplasty (eyelids) : more than 45,000 procedures

This surgery, which is used to lift drooping eyelids with age, is gaining popularity. Not just older men, but also Asian men looking to round out their eyes.

Cheek surgery, implants : more than 28,000 procedures

These cheek implants are used to rejuvenate the face by giving it plumper cheekbones. This is the surgery that saw the most marked increase in 2020.

Liposuction : more than 22,000 procedures

Even though liposuction is very popular among men, doctors point out that the procedure remains less effective than for women. For example, it is impossible to completely remove fat from a male belly. However, it is starting to be used to define abdominal muscles, for example.

Gynecomastia (mammary glands) : more than 18,000 procedures

This procedure aims to reduce the size of the mammary glands in men with excessive development.

The American Association also highlights the emergence of “daddy do-over”. It is inspired by the popular “mommy make-over”, a combination of abdominoplasty, liposuction and breast lift for women. For men, this expression refers to liposuction, gynecomastia and even fat transfers to bulk up certain muscles.

Botox

Among non-invasive procedures, Botox is by far the most common, with over 265,000 patients.

More than 118,000 men have also received various filler injections, often with hyaluronic acid.
