Lio’s solution to combat the media’s “complacency” with domestic violence and pedocrime

In 2018, at age 55, she sang topless to the tenth anniversary of Femen. If we know anything about Lio, singer and actress, it’s that she is fearless. Committed to the feminist cause, she who multiplies the positions (she spoke a lot during the Marie Trintignant affair, who was her friend) is showing a very apt TV movie, this March 29.

Lio plays a lawyer in “She saved me”

This March 29, M6 is broadcasting “She saved me” in which Lio plays the role of lawyer Nathalie Tomasini, who defended Laura Rapp, victim of domestic violence… Remember, in 2018, the young woman, mother of a baby, almost lost her life under the beatings from her ex-husband. Miraculous thanks to her call for help on Twitter, she inspired the TV movie that M6 showed tonight.

And for Lio, playing in it immediately imposed itself. The 59-year-old star confesses on Europe 1, this morning, to have “say yes right away, after listening to Ionut [Ionut Teianu, réalisateur du film, ndlr]”. And for good reason, she said on Philippe Vandel’s show: “Ionut speaks well of assassination for Julie (Douib, another victim, editor’s note), he speaks well of feminicide“.

For Lio, indeed, “It’s very important in these cases to use the right words to talk about it“. And that’s why the actress took advantage of her time in “Media Culture” to make a startle call. She lamented: “The media is extremely complacent with domestic violence and pedocrime”. And to judge: “When a father touches his daughter, we say it’s too much love. No, it’s a crime. It’s pedocrime”.

“Get Ready for the Brawl”

To be convinced, Lio recommended that listeners follow Rose Lamy’s Instagram account: “Get Ready for the Brawl” and get his book “How to destroy sexist discourse in the media”. “Enlightening and completely topical” elements she says.
