The lioness could not be found, and for good reason: it was surely a boar. After more than twenty-four hours of research carried out by hundreds of police officers, the alert was lifted in Berlin, Germany, on Friday July 21. The wanted animal “is not a lioness” but more “probably” a wild boar, announces the mayor of Kleinmachnow, the town where the presence of the beast had been reported.
This animal first identified as a lioness by several witnesses was filmed overnight from Wednesday to Thursday. Ithe presumed feline was later seen “by police colleagues during the night”assured another local police spokesperson.
After deploying a vast array of police, drones, helicopters, the mayor of Kleinmachnow announced on Friday morning the arrival of professional animal trackers, before ending the alert. “I assume that there is no danger in Berlin and the surrounding area”concluded the chosen one.
