Lionel Tim (Link Up) on the verge of tears about Mr. Pokora: “I expect nothing from him”

In 2003, Lionel TimMr. Pokora and Otis won the third season of pop stars on M6. Together, they formed the group Link Up, which quickly found its audience. However, after the release of their first album only, they went their separate ways. Each then embarked on a solo career, which was a great success for Matt Pokora who is still a popular personality today. Unfortunately, Lionel Tim did not meet with the same success. He thus changed his life and became a room driver. The ex-singer has for example already worked for highly watched shows like France has an unbelievable talent, The New Edition or Do not touch My TV. A last program where he was brought to meet Matt Pokora and above all to applaud him. Moments that are not necessarily easy to live for Lionel Tim.

In TPMP People Saturday February 12, 2022, he also had a lot of trouble holding back his tears by evoking the singer always in the light. “You are happy for your friend. But it’s complex because it sends you back to… It’s beyond your control. You fight to stay humble, and tell you: ‘No, it’s cool, it’s normal. Life is hard and you have to stay strong!’ You’re happy for him and you say to yourself: ‘Couldn’t this stardust which allowed him to go where he is, there be a little bit for you?’“, he struggled to articulate on the set of Matthieu Delormeau.

He doesn’t have time to call me

Lionel Tim then confided in his relationship with the husband of Christina Milian, which has changed a lot since the time pop stars. “We had an adventure together, he wasn’t my best friend, he was like my little brother on the show. Today, he has a family life to manage, he is someone who has plenty to do. He doesn’t have time to call me, he’s very busy. When we meet, we say hello but I don’t expect anything from him“, he assured.

Lionel Tim also says to himself “happy to do the job” he does and not regret his participation in the musical program. He nevertheless recognizes that the post-pop stars put him through some dark times. Lionel Tim even wanted to end his life. “Today, I’m still suffering, I’m still doing psychoanalysis, I’m going to see a shrink, it’s costing me sorrelI fight for projects…“, he confessed. He decided to tell his story through a play called To my star. “I talk about everything I went through and I fought to have this baby, that’s my baby. I borrowed to produce this piece, I play at the Divine Comedy for 45 dates, I invite everyone I can invite to show that there is no fatality. If you want to get there, you get there. And, even if on the side I make the public applaud for Matt Pokora, I’m happy to do it because it gives him energy and it’s the same for all the guests who come on the set“, he concluded under applause which this time was intended for him.
