Septuagenarian artists are doing well. Lionel Richie, 73, will be at the Bell Center on August 9 with the band Earth, Wind & Fire, as part of his tour Sing a Song All Night Long.
The tour of the former leader of the Commodores will start a few days earlier, on August 4, in Minneapolis. It will stop in Toronto the day before (August 8), then in Montreal on August 9. Tickets will go on sale from March 13.
Lionel Richie, who sold more than 125 million albums (at the time he was selling some), will revisit his vast repertoire, which includes several hits like All Night Long, Penny Lover, Stuck on You, Hello, Say You, Say Meor Dancing on the Ceiling.
The American artist will take to the Bell Center stage with another legendary group, Earth, Wind & Fire, founded in 1969 by Maurice White. The current members, also young septuagenarians, will be led by Philip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson.
The funk music group will perform their hits, including Let’s Groove, september or Reasons.
