Linguistic diversity is an asset

In response to Yves-François Blanchet’s declaration on the existence of “two Quebecs”, Mr.me Drimonis, this week, in Montreal Gazette, said very eloquently and precisely that most of us here in Quebec would agree, that this is the feeling of the modern and avant-garde Quebecer. Yes, Montreal has a multilingual population whose diversity allows all of Quebec to prosper and which is not to be feared. Sitting in a cafe and hearing two friends speaking to each other in both languages as if it were the most normal means of communication is one of the reasons why I too love this city and what makes our world so unique, charming and attractive to so many people. The diversity of Montreal should be considered by our politicians as an asset and not as a liability. MM. Blanchet, Legault and Plamondon, welcome to where we are.
