The lingerie brand Maison Lejaby was placed in receivership on Wednesday January 3 by the Lyon commercial court, at the company’s request, specifies boss Thierry Le Guénic. The reason: operating debt, generated mainly during the Covid period. The company based in Rillieux-La-Pape, near Lyon, today employs 55 employees. For the moment, there are no job cuts planned, but fears about the future are real.

If the recovery does not surprise the unions, the recent setbacks of their boss, who also took over Habitat, finally liquidated a few days ago, do not encourage them to be optimistic. The social and economic committee assures franceinfo that it will be very attentive to possible job losses. Its secretary also specifies that the committee will be vigilant about losses of know-how and the sustainability of the company.

The fear, ultimately, is a collective layoff procedure. The lingerie brand still had a thousand employees at the start of the 2000s. There are therefore only 55 today, with two stores in Paris and Lyon. Lejaby, created almost a century ago, is at stake in its future in the coming weeks. The recovery procedure is open with an observation period of six months.
