Yesterday evening, there was no vaccination slot available in Limoges before December 26, on Doctolib. The generalization of the third dose for all adults, announced this Thursday noon by Olivier Véran, has led to a boom in reservations … At the Jean Moulin center in Limoges, all appointments until January are gone in 24 hours .
Reservations on the rise for two weeks
At 1 p.m., the two nurses at the center each performed 42 injections, or just over 80 injections in half a day. A pace that has accelerated over the past two weeks, after a very calm start to autumn, the flow of the second doses passed.
As soon as the President of the Republic has spoken [le 9 novembre], we had a lot of calls and reservations on Doctolib.
“This morning again, people come spontaneously, asking if we have any doses left.“, explains Annie, nurse.
All doses used
“They better call, because if we have a dose left, we absolutely give the right to come“, she advises. But for now, there are none left.
The Limougeauds who are present had made an appointment long before … They are mainly caregivers (for whom the third dose was opened on October 6), like Sophie, physiotherapist. “I continue to protect myself and my patients“, she declares just before the bite. On the other chairs, retirements, like Martine, just 65 years old.
When they announced that those over 65 were entitled to a third dose, I made an appointment immediately.
“We have to manage to stop this epidemic, so it’s only like that … If everyone gets vaccinated“, she explains before going back to her rest chair for fifteen minutes. Annie, the nurse, says especially vaccine booster shots, but also a few first doses.
Twice as much injection as of next week
Currently, the Jean Moulin center has only opened two vaccination lines, and it should increase to four next week. He will thus be able to achieve 320 daily injections (against 160 currently), and reopen new places. At the peak of vaccination during the summer (when the health pass was set up), up to six lines were in operation.
The government had announced a strengthening of vaccine capacities as early as this weekend, but it should take a few days what’s more, the time that additional doses are delivered. Indeed, some centers, like that of Jean Moulin in Limoges, will vaccinate at Moderna instead of Pfizer in the coming days, for lack of dose of the second. Some professionals point to the government’s lack of anticipation on these logistical issues. For its part, the executive ensures that there are enough bottles.
Vaccination centers in Limousin extend their hours
In Corrèze, two centers currently dormant will reopen, or thirteen in all. In Haute-Vienne, the eleven centers that are currently operating remain open. These will amplify their time slots. Moreover, the operations “Move towards“will strengthen, especially in the 87. Five new mobile missions will go out to meet the population. Finally, the regional health agencies are advising Limousins to make an appointment in city medicine, liberal, for their third dose. It is now better equipped and more provided to carry out the recall campaign.
