Since the beginning of the summer, weddings have been linked. In Limoges, for example, nine marriages were celebrated on the same day. Due to Covid-19, many couples have had to postpone their plans.

It was a real marathon. For the single day of Saturday July 30, the town hall of Limoges (Haute-Vienne) celebrated nine marriages, which therefore took place one after the other. Guilaine waited two years to get married, so she is very emotional. After two years of the pandemic, her dream has come true. Her marriage proposal took place in 2020, but due to Covid-19, she and her husband postponed the date twice.

Post-Covid-19 unions are experiencing a real boom. This year, 216 weddings are scheduled in Limoges between June and September, fifty more than last year. “It’s a fairly methodical work, with of course administrative staff who supervise us, and we plan a certain time. We are of course betting on the punctuality of the bride and groom”says not without a smile Jean-Marie Lagedamontdeputy mayor of Limoges. The summer period is also always preferred by the bride and groom, because of the heat.
