Limoges CSP: meeting Andrea Cavallari, “I really like the vibrations in Limoges”

Arrived this summer at the same time as Massimo Cancellieri, Andréa Cavallari is only 26 years old. Before settling down in Limoges, he went through the United States and the University of California in Los Angeles. There, he worked with athletes from other disciplines. Soccer, athletics and rowing. He then took charge of Israel and the Hapoel Jerusalem basketball club. Before being recruited this summer by the Limoges CSP.

I’ve never seen a city make so much noise about basketball

But he might be Italian, he had never met Massimo Cancellieri before arriving in Limousin. “The first time we saw each other was on August 15 in Beaublanc. Of course, we had spoken by zoom a few days before. But I had never seen him before. He knew my experience. We had long discussions with him and Crawford Palmer. And luckily they decided to take me“he laughs today.

André Cavallari who grew up in the suburbs of Milan is now delighted to be working at Limoges CSP: “I am very happy to be here. Because honestly, I’ve never seen a city make so much noise about basketball. Europe is usually a stronghold for football. Here, it’s for basketball. I’m very excited. I love going to Beaublanc for our home games. Limoges is a very special city because basketball is the priority and I love it“.

I am happy to be here and to work with them

As a physical trainer, the specificities of the French championship suit him very well. “I think that compared to other European championships, the French championship has an incredible athletic level. And that’s great when you do my job. Because you work with some great boys in this business. And they love that aspect of the game. It’s the basis of the identity of this league. That’s why I’m happy to be here and to work with them“he explains, smiling.

André Cavallari who, like the other employees of the club, spends most of his time at Beaublanc. “We don’t have too much free time outside of work. But I discovered Limoges. It is a very cute town even if it is a small town. I didn’t really have time to discover France. I just spent an evening in Paris. But I really like the vibrations in Limoges. It’s a very cool town“. And it’s even more true for André Cavallari, when match night comes at the Beaublanc sports center.
