Limoges ABC players prepare for the 2022-2023 season with the crocs

The Limoges ABC players have put on their jerseys. At the beginning of the month, the basketball players got to know their five new recruits on the field of the municipal hall of the Sisters-of-la-Rivière. A return to school a little early, to start four intensive weeks of preparation. For this 2022-2023 season, the club is aiming for the top of the table.

Reattack fangs

On deck for several months, the technical staff around Romain Leclaircie has worked to build an ambitious team in 2022-2023. “We want them to have the slab”, launches without language of wood the coach of the pennant team. “I absolutely wanted dispatched forces. Each player has one, two or even three strengths. The idea was not to centralize the game on two or three players and to create an oiled collective prepared for the danger that comes from everywhere.

“Our second criterion was the state of mind in particular of the recruits”, continues Romain Leclaircie. “We had girls who were too nice to each other and that was reflected on Saturday night. The state of mind is much more conquering, we have more competitors. Last year we showed self-sacrifice but we also let go at times and that we no longer want to see it to have ambitions for the top of the table.

Five new faces

Five new faces join the six daughters of Romain Leclaircie. Leaders Zahra Wajih and Stella Mavuanga, pivot Anne-Françoise Diouf, and wingers Zuzanna Puc, and Gundo Kiluangu. The latter, straight from Alençon, the basketball player is not afraid. “I have the niac.” says the 25-year-old player with a smile. “I really hope it will be a fresh start. I am a bad loser so I will do everything to win. As it is a basketball city, we tell ourselves that we must not miss it, we must give everything.”

The one who has been playing in NF1 for four years now arrives with more than one trick up her sleeve. “My quality of shooting, and my human side, my joy of living. The players are friendly and so far it’s going really well.” Accustomed to rooms that “heat up”, she looks forward to meeting the excitement of the Mu room. See you on September 17 for the first championship weekend against Colomnier at home.
