You have to read it again and again to really believe it. Barely awake, Lille supporters are slowly recovering from a historic victory. “I still don’t believe we won against the biggest team in the world”confides a Lille supporter. LOSC achieved the feat of overthrowing defending champion Real Madrid in the Champions League. Everything changed just before half-time, when the intervention of the VAR pushed the referee to award a penalty to Lille. Jonathan David did not tremble to convert his penalty.
Real Madrid conceded their first defeat of the season. A day that fans will remember for a long time. The victory made an entire stadium explode with joy. The party dragged on for the supporters all the way to the center of Lille where supporters were exulting in the main square.
