Ligue 2 (J8) – Xande Silva package for DFCO

On a bad slope with two defeats in a row, against Annecy and Bastia, the DFCO receives Sochaux, Saturday September 10, 2022 at the Stade Gaston Gérard (kick-off 7 p.m.). An 8th day of Ligue 2 decisive to stay at the top of the table for Dijon, 8th with 11 points, against FCSM, 3rd with 13 points.

Xande Silva injured

We feared it, striker Xande Silva is forfeited and will not be able to face Sochaux. He was injured, hit in the thigh, in Bastia last weekend. “He is too fair for this match”, confirms coach Omar Daf. A blow, the Portuguese totaled two goals and two assists since the start of the championship.

In the infirmary department, Zargo Touré (knee) continues his rehabilitation. Roger Assalé and Walid Nassi are on the way to a comeback, having resumed training with the group this week.

What about Alex Dobre?

Since the start of the season, the second top scorer of last year, Alex Dobre, has still not appeared in the group. Announced as a starter, he is still at the club, moreover present in the official photo published by the DFCO this week.

One would have thought that the situation was resolved. However, to hear the answer of his coach Omar Daf in the pre-match press conference, when asked if he will play again soon, it seems a bit complicated: “I lost a lot of energy and a lot of time (talking about this file, editor’s note). The transfer window is over. There are leaders who manage this aspect, you will have to ask them the question. There are players who have situations to manage with the management, so I let the management manage these files.”.

Christopher Rocchia (still) suspended

Omar Daf will once again have to do without the services of his left side Christopher Rocchia. Expelled from Bastia, he was sanctioned with a two-game suspension by the LFP disciplinary committee, and will therefore miss the reception of Sochaux and the trip to Bordeaux. Rocchia has already received two red cards this season, in six games played.

Daniel Congré and Ousseynou Thioune, who received a third yellow card in less than ten games, will be present against Sochaux but will not be able to travel to Gironde the following weekend. Mickaël Le Bihan, Jordan Marié and Cheick Traoré are under threat of suspension in the event of a yellow card against Sochaux.

Sochaux, team in form

After a timid start, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, 3rd, is in good shape. Olivier Guégan’s players remain on four victories in a row when moving to Gaston Gérard.

A match in the form of a reunion for coach Omar Daf, player then coach of Sochaux, who arrived in Dijon this summer. “It’s a special match, but we have to focus on the game. We mustn’t go on extra sports”indicates the Dijon coach in a pre-match press conference, in line with his interview in 100% Sport earlier this week.
