In one scene from the film, we can see a kiss exchanged between Alisha Hawthorne’s character and his wife. This short scene was not unanimous.

Homophobic remarks have rocketed everywhere since the release of the film. American star Chris Evans spoke about these criticisms in an interview with Reuters Television.

“The truth is that these people are idiots. There will always be people who will be afraid, who will not be aware and who will try to cling to the past, but these people will die like dinosaurs,” he said.

The actor of Captain America urged people to “go ahead” and “ignore” the criticism.

Lightyear has not received an operating visa in 14 countries in the Middle East and Asia, including Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Egypt.

According to specialized media, the scene was initially not to appear in the film. Disney and Pixar employees then criticized the decision of Pixar studios and the lack of responsiveness of the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek, to the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. This bill, prohibiting the teaching of sexual orientation in public schools in Florida, was finally denounced by Mr. Chapek. He then decided to put the kiss scene back in the edit.
