Lightspeed Commerce signs partnership with Uber

Lightspeed Commerce has signed a North American partnership with Uber to integrate Uber Direct and Uber Eats marketplaces into its platform.

The Montreal-based cloud commerce specialist says direct integrations will allow Lightspeed merchants to showcase their menus and take orders on online marketplace Uber Eats.

They will also be able to take orders on their own websites through Lightspeed’s mobile ordering module, then use Uber Direct for delivery.

This will allow merchants to pay only the associated delivery costs without the costs of developing their own delivery fleet.

Uber Direct is Uber’s white-label delivery facilitation service.

Lightspeed President JD Saint-Martin said the company believes this partnership is just the first step in a long-term relationship with Uber.
