In Ukraine, Russian forces continue their offensive. On the night of Friday 29 to Saturday 30 April, bombardments targeted the city of Kharkiv. About ten people were killed.
The images of the destruction of some thirty tanks and Russian military equipment, in Izioum in the Donbasswere provided by the Ukrainian government to claim tactical victories. But in the trenches, on the front line, Ukrainian soldiers continue to come under intense Russian pressure. And the people too. On the road to Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, hundreds of cars and families are huddled together.
Ukrainians flee their village which has just been bombed. “Our house burned down last night and everything in it. We have nowhere to go, it’s terrifying”says a woman.
