(Paris) Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was indicted on Tuesday in Paris in the investigations into the retraction in 2020 of Ziad Takieddine’s intermediary, who accused her husband of having financed his 2007 presidential campaign with Libyan funds, a judicial source indicated.
The wife of the former head of state is being prosecuted for receiving stolen goods and suborning a witness (Ziad Takieddine) and participating in a criminal association with a view to committing the offence of fraud in court as part of an organised gang, the source said. She has been “placed under judicial supervision with a ban on contacting any of the protagonists in this procedure, with the exception of Mr Nicolas Sarkozy,” it was added.
