(Havre-Saint-Pierre) Former Liberal Prime Minister Jean Charest applauds the report on the relaunch of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ).
The document entitled Assert yourself, unite, prosper was made public on Thursday by former senator André Pratte and MP Madwa-Nika Cadet, in particular.
It reaffirms the “federalist-nationalist” position of the Liberal Party and proposes a series of avenues to follow under these three major themes.
While in Havre-Saint-Pierre where he participated in the inauguration of the La Romaine hydroelectric complex, Mr. Charest said he was “impressed” by the report.
“It is work of substance and substance, […] done with a long-term perspective. […] A new constitution of Quebec, […] interculturalism, the question of an industrial policy, I am very impressed,” he said.
He applauds the “desire to put all Quebecers under one roof”.
Mr. Charest, who was Liberal prime minister from 2003 to 2012, declared that the PLQ had an important place on the political scene in Quebec.
