(Ottawa) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his ministers will strategize for the resumption of work in Parliament during a three-day cabinet retreat next week.

Trudeau said the virtual retreat, to be held Monday through Wednesday, will focus on the minority Liberal government’s efforts to mitigate the economic impacts of the still raging COVID-19 pandemic and ensure a strong recovery.
This includes creating jobs, investing in a green economy, and continuing to support individuals and businesses through the fifth wave of the pandemic, fueled by the highly contagious Omicron variant.
Mr. Trudeau indicated in a press release that it would also be a question “of setting up childcare services at $10 a day, carrying out the vaccination campaign, combating the climate crisis and creating affordable housing”.
The House of Commons is due to resume on January 31 after a six-week break.
Trudeau said his minority government, which depends on the support of at least one opposition party to get things done, would work with all parliamentarians to achieve positive results.
