Intractable at home (3-0 record) since the beginning of the campaign, the ship’s Vikings continued their momentum by delivering one of their best performances of the season in front of the 1,491 fans gathered at the Henry-Leonard Center.

It didn’t take long for the locals to show their colors by opening the scoring in the third minute of play before doubling their lead, less than four minutes later, thanks to the net of veteran Xavier Fortin.

Cruising speed

Leading 2-1 after 20 minutes of play, Jean-François Grégoire’s men quickly regained their momentum in the second period with a push of three unanswered goals, which definitively settled the case of the visitors.

Opportunistic in attack and very intense in defence, the Nord-Côtiers kept control of the match until the very end and, despite some infractions in the last moments of the game, they were never really threatened.

“This victory is the result of good teamwork and everyone contributed. Offensively, it was a collective effort. No one liked our last game in Victoriaville and the players responded very well,” commented the ship’s pilot.

Victorious in four of their first five duels on the calendar, the crew members pushed in the same direction.

“Since the beginning of the season, our success has been based on the contribution of all the guys and, on Saturday night, they made the right decisions and handled the puck in a good way. »

Captain Isaac Dufort did well again with a goal and an assist.

♦ The Drakkar will play their next game on Sunday when they visit the Phœnix in Sherbrooke.
