Gerard Leclerc is a well-known face to CNEWS viewers. The 71-year-old presenter appears on the show Time for the pros and replaces presenter Pascal Praud in his absence. And the public may not know it, but it is part of the same family as a famous singer.
In the Leclerc family, we ask for the brother. Or rather, the half-brother. The former employee of France Télévisions has a relationship with the artist Julien Clerc (Paul-Alain Leclerc, his real name). Gérard Leclerc and he have indeed the same father, Paul Leclerc who was a senior official at Unesco. He died in 2003, a subject the 74-year-old singer raised in Psychologies in 2012. “When my mother-in-law [Ghislaine Téry, NDLR] died, I didn’t go to see her, I stayed downstairs. I had seen her the day before and I understood. It was the same for my mother, and even more so for my father: he died half an hour after I left his room. The others said to me: ‘You know, he left slowly, it was beautiful to see.’ No, for me, it’s not a pretty sight. I saw him leave, but I didn’t see him leave. And it’s better that way“, he declared.
Julien Clerc was raised by his dad, who obtained his custody after his separation from his mother Évelyne Merlot, when he was not 2 years old. He therefore spent the week with his father and his many half-brothers and half-sisters: Jean-Noël Leclerc, Gérard, Sylvie, Christine and Marianne. We therefore imagine that all were close.
Gérard Leclerc can also boast of having a wife who is not unknown to the general public. He is in fact in a relationship and married since 1981 to Julie Leclerc (Chantal Séloron of her real name) one of the great voices of French radio. The listeners of Europe 1 in particular know her well since she worked there for no less than forty-nine years before being dismissed in July 2021. “I confirm this morning my departure from Europe 1 which is not my fault and which occurs at the same time as that of Nicolas Canteloup whose partner I was [dans La Revue de presque, depuis 2005, NDLR]“, had confided the 77-year-old host to AFP. Subsequently, she was recruited by Laurent Ruquier in Les Grosses têtes, on RTL.
