(Ottawa) The federal government will commit $100 million over five years to implement a first plan to support LGBTQ communities.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau explained that $75 million will be donated to 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations that champion sexual diversity and inclusion.
Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, Marci Ien, said the funds will be given “to all those who fight to be heard and accepted. »
She added that this program was put in place after seven consultations with the LGBTQ and Two-Spirit communities.
Mme Ien said more than 5 million will be earmarked for the design and implementation of awareness campaigns focused on eliminating stigma and discrimination.
