The Paris prosecutor’s office announced, Wednesday, July 13, to open an investigation for sexual harassment and assault against the deputy LFI Eric Coquerel, president of the finance committee of the National Assembly.

Sophie Tissier, a former close friend of the Left Party and ex-figure of “yellow vests”, filed a complaint in early July. She denounces facts “could amount to sexual assault” dating from August 23, 2014 in Grenoble, which Eric Coquerel denies.

The facts could be prescribed. Sophie Tissier announced on July 3 that she had seized the follow-up committee against sexist and sexual violence of La France insoumise.
