They won’t go. The LFI and Communist parties and parliamentary groups have decided not to go to Matignon next week, where Elisabeth Borne wanted to receive them. This is what they announced on Thursday March 30, again calling for the withdrawal of the pension reform. “Rebellious France and its parliamentary group will not go to meet Elisabeth Borne”tweeted LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard, specifying that it was to take place on Monday.

Communists do the same. “As it is at the Elysée that everything is decided unfortunately, we decline the invitation of the Prime Minister. We ask to be received by the President of the Republic. It is urgent that he act!”commented the national secretary of the PCF, Fabien Roussel, on Twitter.

Socialists reserve their response

The communist parliamentarians are on the initiative of the “republican procession” who will walk from the Assembly to the Elysée on Tuesday morning to “deliver, in person, to the President of the Republic a letter” asking for the withdrawal of the reform which provides for the decline of the legal age of departure to 64, they write in a press release.

The socialist group is waiting to receive an invitation from Elisabeth Borne to decide, according to a parliamentary source. Asked by AFP, the environmentalists have not responded at this stage. The head of government had expressed, in an interview with AFP, her wish to invite them with the aim “to appease the country”.
